Freudian Slip?

Reading this article (found here) about a protest in Texas, my eye caught a possible quote that got my blood boiling:

"I think it's criminal the way he's being attacked," Gene Collins, who supports Mr. Obama's Speech, said.

He supports the President's message and an opportunity for students to hear from the Country's leader.

I don't quite know who wrote that, which is why I said "possible" quote. I don't know if Mr. Collins called the president our leader, or if it was put in by the newspaper. But fuck them all to hell. Fuck both of them all to hell in any case. The president does. Not. LEAD! He represents this country on the world stage, but he doesn't lead jack shit! Despite the best efforts of the Democrat American Communist Party, this is NOT North Korea! We do not have Dear Leader installed in D.C.!

Perhaps THAT is the big dichotomy between Conservatives and Liberals - Conservatives want to be represented. Liberals want to be lead. Having surrendered their responsibilities to the government, as well as the freedoms that those responsibilities come with, Liberals now wait, infant like, to be led into blissful, ignorant slumber, sucking their binkies and waiting for their government sponsored nurse to change their soiled diapers.

And if Liberals just left it at that, we might have been fine. But they want to force the REST of America into their infantile slumber with them. Sorry you Leftoid fuckwits, but I choose my LEADERS. And I will not allow Obama to LEAD me anywhere. I've seen where leadership of that sort ends up. I can do a Google search on Soviet Gulags just as well as the next guy.

Labor Day Weekend

The Ragin' Mrs. and myself will be out in an area where there's no internet. And we'll be enjoying ourselves.

So y'all just hit the blogroll this weekend, m'kay? Thanks!

Quote of the Day

Found over at Knowledge is Power.

If you want to know my policies, look to the people I surround myself with.

Who said that? Our Liberal Lord and Messiah, Barry Hussein Obama, the Chicago Commie himself! Well, let's just take him at his word, shall we? Who does he surround himself with?

Bill Ayers, unrepentant domestic terrorist.
Tony Rezko, who gave him a sweet deal on his house and is currently sitting in jail.
Jeremiah Wright, who screams "GOD DAMN AMERICA!" from his church pulpit, who married the Obamas and was a spiritual mentor for Obama.
All the tax cheats he picked for his cabinet:
Tom Daschle, the first HHS nominee (who resigned because of his tax cheating),
Chief performance officer nominee Nancy Killefer.
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner,
US Trade Representative Ron Kirk
Labor Secretary Hilda Solis’s (husband)
Kathleen Sebelius

And then there are the czars. Including Van Jones, a batshit crazy nutcase from California, a self-avowed Communist, and a member of the 9-11 Truther movement. A science czar that endorses euthanasia. On and on and on and on.

In short, Obama has surrounded himself with the most radical, far-left group of people that you couldn't parody if you tried. So, Barry - let's look at your policies via your associates, shall we?

And did you hear about 8 September???

A quick note on this is that the content has been changed since there was such a huge uprise about it.

President Obama’s Address to Students Across America September 8, 2009
PreK-6 Menu of Classroom Activities: President Obama’s Address to Students Across America
Produced by Teaching Ambassador Fellows, U.S. Department of Education
September 8, 2009

Before the Speech:
• Teachers can build background knowledge about the President of the United States and his speech by reading books about presidents and Barack Obama and motivate students by asking the following questions:
Who is the President of the United States?
What do you think it takes to be President?
To whom do you think the President is going to be speaking?
Why do you think he wants to speak to you?
What do you think he will say to you?
• Teachers can ask students to imagine being the President delivering a speech to all of the students in the United States. What would you tell students? What can students do to help in our schools? Teachers can chart ideas about what they would say.
• Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?
During the Speech:
• As the President speaks, teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful. Students could use a note-taking graphic organizer such as a Cluster Web, or students could record their thoughts on sticky notes. Younger children can draw pictures and write as appropriate. As students listen to the speech, they could think about the following:
What is the President trying to tell me?
What is the President asking me to do?
What new ideas and actions is the President challenging me to think about?
• Students can record important parts of the speech where the President is asking them to do something. Students might think about: What specific job is he asking me to do? Is he asking anything of anyone else? Teachers? Principals? Parents? The American people?
• Students can record a

With crap like this....

I think all of our Senators need to be tarred and feathered!!!

Obama hates the American Flag

Obama refuses the pledge, announces he won't wear a flag pin, takes the American flag off of his campaign aircraft, excuses campaign workers flying the Cuban flag in his campaign offices, tolerates American flags being trashed at his nomination... and now...

Kathryn Jean Lopez on the latest : Where Did the American Flag Go?
The United States Mission to the United Nations has a new look online. If you check out the redesigned site, you see it’s decked out in United Nations blue, with the U.N. logo prominently displayed.
...

Fine, the U.N. logo is there. But where is the United States flag? And where did the red, white, and blue that used to introduce the site go?
...

...that overbearing U.N. logo is new. A waving U.S. flag used to be in its place.
But Obama will salute Ghana's flag...

And now...

Remember when dissent was patriotic?

Now, in the New and Improved Obamamerica, dissent is TERRORISM!

And yes, let's keep a copy of that screencap saved, please.

Why I don't watch TV

(Or, why America voted for a hard-Left Chicago Commie)

So I was in the local convenience store getting various sundry items for the Ragin' Mrs., and they have their TV set to "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire". I don't know if it was a re-run or the current show. There's a gentleman on the show who looks to be about my age, give or take a few years. He's up to 16,000 dollars. He's used up ALL his lifelines. And I'm thinking "OK, maybe the questions are just that hard."

Then he gets to the $32,000 question, and I might paraphrase a bit here, and pardon my commentary if it's a bit hard to read:

"War is hell" is a quotation (at this point I'm muttering 'Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman, US Army, march to Atlanta, 1864) from a famous general (William T. Sherman!) in what American conflict?" (jaw hits floor at how blindingly easy this question is.)

And you know what? The guy couldn't answer the question. He was given the choices of WWI, WWII, Revolutionary War, or Civil War. He could. Not. Answer. The. Question. He walked away with his 16k and I was staring at the TV in disbelief.

Now here's where it gets worse - the girl working behind the counter, noticing me staring into blank space, helpfully chirps "Can I help you find anything?" I shake my head and reply that I can't believe the guy didn't know the answer to that simple question. The girl, who had not been watching the TV asks what the question was. I repeat the question to her, and she shrugs and says "Oh well, I don't know the answer either."

This is where Dave gets a little... um... foamy at the mouth, I think is the correct term. I'm not the most educated person in the world. I have a high school diploma, some college, lots of vocational training, and more job based schooling than I can shake a stick at. But I don't have a fancy college degree. And yet little 'ol average me knew the quote, who said it and when. That should be standard. That should be the bare minimum! This is American history, and Americans by and large DON'T HAVE A FUCKING CLUE ABOUT IT!

In any case, as I'm muttering "WILLIAM T. SHERMAN!" like a crazy homeless guy as I wander the shelves, the poor cashier girl having retreated into the back due to me looking all foamy at the mouth and all, the older gent behind the counter gives me a sympathetic look and says "I guess some people didn't pay attention in school."

I hate to tell him - I don't think that's the problem. And this now brings me to the linking section of this post. That's not an uber-post from Keven Baker, but it's one that needs to be read and spread. You want to know why so many people keep voting to put the gun into their mouths and pull the trigger? Because they have never been taught critical thinking. They've been indoctrinated, not educated. I had a conversation with a guy at my gun club last October, before the election, and he announced that he was a proud gun owner for Obama.

Me: "You do know he's anti gun, right?"
Him: "Oh, Obama's not going to take away our guns!"
Me: "You do know his record on guns, right?"
Him: "Look, Obama's not going to take away our guns!"
Me: "And with the Democrats in control of Congress, many of whom are VERY anti-gun, what's going to stop him from signing another gun ban?"
Him: "Obama won't take our guns!"
Me: "How do you know that? What facts, events or evidence lead you to that conclusion, when EVERY OTHER SIGN points to Obama pushing for more gun control?"
Him: "You're a conservative, aren't you?"

The more I deal with people, the more I believe that Drumwaster (among others) is right, and there will be a second revolution in my lifetime.

Two Food Related Links

Both via SayUncle. The first is Feed your Family for a Week, where upon you can see in visual detail what it would take to do just that. Although the Ragin' Mrs and I might disagree on the American family. In fact, the food budget for the Ragin' household looks nothing like what's in that picture.

To each their own, I guess.

The second link is about a woman prevented from selling Kimchee in a market there in SayUncle's hometown. The Ragin' Mrs is prevented from selling her Spice Rub out and about because it's not made in a commercial kitchen. It's just dry spices, ground and mixed together in various amounts, but we need a commercial kitchen to do it in.

Head scratching. But commenters to that post link to various laws that show how all those hoops were placed in front of us to jump through. Just one more example of how far nanny gummint has invaded our lives.

Business as usual

Charlie Rangle is a corrupt, hypocritical piece of shit, he has been for years, and the Democrat American Communist Party is STILL going to cover for him.

We need to dangle that worthless motherfucker over the Donks at every election. "Why do we say the Dimocrats are corrupt pieces of shit who can't be trusted? LOOK AT WHO THEY ELECT TO BE THEIR LEADER!"

We need to superimpose Rangel's face with Leona Helmsly - TAXES ARE WHAT THE LITTLE PEOPLE PAY!

Seen this yet?

Rachel Lucas went to Auschwitz and Birkenau. Blogged about it, with pictures.

It's things like this that make it difficult to restrain myself when brain-dead fucking piece of shit liberals call me a Nazi. One, it's the liberals who are trying to enforce the same damn laws, ideas and concepts as the Nazis. Two - just go look.

I want to beat anyone who calls me a Nazi into a bloody pulp. And you know what? That would still be nicer than what the Nazis did to anyone they considered inconvenient.

Health care reform that would really work

Sarah Palin has the key, " There can be no true health care reform without legal reform."

So I have new questions for the president: Why no legal reform? Why continue to encourage defensive medicine that wastes billions of dollars and does nothing for the patients? Do you want health care reform to benefit trial attorneys or patients?

As usual in this article Sarah has done her homework showing the actual savings of Tort Reform. She links settlement caps with malpractice savings being passed onto the patients and adding to the numbers of medical practitioners.

District Court Rules in Favor of E-Verify Executive Order

On Wednesday, a federal court in Maryland ruled in favor of the E-Verify mandate for federal contractors, first issued by the Bush Administration. The order requires all contractors to verify the workplace eligibility of new hires, but it's been delayed four times - once by the Bush Administration and three times by the Obama Administration - pending the court's ruling. The rule is now set to become effective on Sept. 8.

Notes of Blue

It's another light posting day here, so here's a photo I took of a river next to Highway 2 heading out of Seattle.

I just like it. I don't know if I could explain why, but I do. As usual, use it if you want but give attribution.
