PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers star Ben Roethlisberger, the youngest quarterback to lead a team to the Super Bowl championship, broke his jaw and nose in a motorcycle crash Monday in which he was not wearing a helmet.
Not wearing a helmet. Hmmmmmmmmm..... and if the bike pictured in the news story is Big Ben's, then he was riding around on a crotch rocket.
Dumbass.
Listen, for anyone who rides a motorcycle or is planning on riding one - there are a few rules that you need to be aware of, the first of which is this:
Never get involved in a land war in Asia. Wait, no, that's not it.
OK, rule Number One: WHEN RIDING A MOTORCYCLE, EVERYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD IS TRYING TO KILL YOU.
Rule Number Two: When operating a vehicle that places your head in front of your body, and goes very fast, PROTECT YOUR *@?@^#$ HEAD!
Would anyone like to guess why fatalities on "sport" bikes far outnumber the fatalities on cruisers? Because sportbikes have higher top speeds, and the position you are in is the "head first" position. Which means that in an accident, the first part of your body to hit the ground is most often your head. Whereas a cruiser puts your feet in front of the rest of your body, making an accident on that style of bike more broken legs, feet, hips, and arms.
So here's Ben Roethlisberger, the SuperBowl QB, possibly out for the season because he wanted to ride a fast bike and not protect his head.
I hope the thrill was worth it, dumbass.
