A consumer group has filed suit against the Food and Drug Administration for failing to make good on a 20-year-old promise to consider regulating salt in the food supply.
Let's look at that paragraph, shall we? Especially this part: "for failing to make good on a 20-year-old promise to consider regulating salt in the food supply". Who's to say that the FDA didn't consider regulating salt and deciding not to? No, this lawsuit is filled with weasel words, and it's not that the FDA didn't consider regulating salt in food, it's that the FDA chose NOT to regulate it, and that's what has got this group of arrogant fucknozzles pissed off.
According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest (search), the watchdog group behind the lawsuit, salt consumption (search) for adults in America has drifted upwards over the past three decades. The group estimates that the daily consumption of salt is near 4,000 mg per day — nearly twice the recommended amount.
Uh huh. And how do they get around to figuring these numbers out? Who the hell knows? None of their research is available, which causes me to utter "BULLSHIT!" on a frequent basis. Show the proof, or shut the hell up, I say!
The CSPI says that packaged food nutrition labels have failed to reduce Americans’ sodium intake to recommended levels, and that cutting the nation’s sodium intake could substantially reduce the incidence of health problems associated with high blood pressure.
And The RDBDS (Raging Dave Bullshit Detecting Society) would like to point out just HOW this group of busybodies, nosey shitstains, and egocentric cases of cranial-rectal impaction want to lower your salt intake:
By preventing you from getting any salt. Regulating it. Withholding it based on what THEY want you to eat. And getting the government to do all the work for them.
What happens when they decide that beer is bad for you? Or how about red meat? What happens then? Another lawsuit, with this group of liberal fucktards telling you how to live once again "for your own good"?
You can go read the rest if you want to, it's all the same bullshit. Here's what I want to point out - we've already had lawsuits agains tobacco, lawsuits against fast food, and now a lawsuit against the FDA for not regulating salt. All in the name of "The Public Health", or "The Common Good", or "I get my jollies forcing people to do stupid crap through lawsuits" or something else like that. Here's what these morons refuse to take into consideration: We know that something might be bad for us, AND WE DON'T GIVE A DAMN! I know that tobacco and alcohol are bad for me, but if you try to take away my cigar and scotch, you're going to have a fight on your hands, and I won't be playing fair. The people who would force the government to dictate what you eat are the same people who would remove anything that they might find offensive, even if you're willing to take the risks. Thomos Sowell calls these people "The Safety Police". They're going to keep you safe if you want them to or not, and they're going to intrude into your life as much as possible in order to do it.
And at the root of all of this is one thing: Power. If they can get the government to tell you want to eat, then they have defacto enforced THEIR way of life onto YOU. They have exerted their power over you, and they've done it in a way that you can't retaliate. They've come into your kitchen and taken the sodium chloride right off of your spice shelf, because THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO HAVE IT, so by damn, they'll take it away from you, and they want to make sure that you can't do a damn thing about it.
Scratch a Democrat, find a dictator. You just have to know what you're looking for. And people who would presume to tell you how to live are as worthless as a three month old pile of dog shit.
But they have more disgusting attributes.
