Every place has its own smell

Vicksburg smelled like mold.  With the surrounding forests, the swamp climate and the fact that things never really got cold, there was a constant state of decay surrounding the place, which meant that the leaf mold never stopped.

Ever.

Virginia smells....  fresh.

If it weren't for the gawd-awful taxes here, I'd consider moving here when I retire.  But I won't give that much of my income to the government, and the business climate here is, well, crappy outside of the major urban areas.  There are lots of things I love about Virginia, but in my opinion it's outweighed by the high taxes and the control of the state by liberal bat-shit crazy NoVa and VA Beach.

Still, I do love to visit my friends here.

Yep. The Left is completely delusional.

Crap I'm doing while I don't have to do anything

Can you believe I've never actually sat down and watched one of these all the way through?

The Natchez Trace

So, the Mrs. and I have now driven the Natchez Trace Parkway from bottom to top.  It's a gorgeous drive.  On day one, we were going to try to make it to Andrew Jackson's Hermitage, but we had to chose between interstate driving and seeing the Hermitage, or taking the Trace.  We chose the trace, and we both feel like we made the right choice.

Had some thunderstorms.  Saw on the news that the Upper Peninsula of Michigan actually got some snow.  In May.  So much for that Glo-bull Warming, eh?

Since I'm setting this post up on a schedule, I'll keep away from the news, because anything I type might be out of date by the time you're reading this.  Of course, I could write about how the Democrats are shitting themselves on a national scale over the Mueller report, and that will be the same no matter what day it is.  Listening to the news on the radio, I could only shake my head as I heard the Democrats ramble on and on about this perceived crime, or that perceived illegality, all while Attorney General Barr put up with them and showing more patience than I could ever imagine.  Especially with that walking pile of shit Nadler.

Anyways, more driving.  And then, hanging with friends for a bit.  And then more driving.

Holy hell

Found this at Kim du Toit's place.  You need to read this.  All of it.

We don't know how lucky we are that Trump got elected, but we're finding out.

Crap like this makes me want to hang people from lamp-posts

Especially EPA bureaucrats and 9th Circus judges.

The Obama Justice Department prosecuted U.S. Navy veteran Joe Robertson for digging ponds on his Montana property to fight forest fires, resulting in the then-78-year-old going to federal prison for 18 months starting in 2016 and being fined $130,000, The Daily Signal reported.
The 9th U.S. Circuit of Appeals affirmed the ruling the following year, including the jail time and a requirement that the $130,000 be deducted from Robertson’s Social Security checks.

They punished him for releasing dredge into "navigable waters".  He was digging pits to hold water for fire-fighting trucks because he lives in the woods, far away from any river that you can navigate.

The 9th Circuit, in its decision, said, “In the process of creating these ponds, Robertson discharged dredged and fill material into the surrounding wetlands and an adjacent tributary, which flows to Cataract Creek. Cataract Creek is a tributary of the Boulder River, which in turn is a tributary of the Jefferson River — a traditionally navigable water of the United States.”

At this point, the 9th Circus is stretching so hard to make their case that I'm amazed they don't snap in half.  But this is the San Francisco representative court, so I'm certain they find themselves in all kinds of odd positions.

If the 9th Circus issues a ruling that allows a crack-head to walk free, and that crack-head buys some crack from his dealer, and his dealer shoots a rival, is the 9th Circus now held liable for the death of the drug-dealer's rival?  Why not?  How many layers of separation are required for those black-robed fucktards, as opposed to us Normal Americans?

You want a shooting war?  Idiotic bullshit like this that ruins Normal Americans is how you get a shooting war.  I guarantee you that nobody in that man's family will ever trust the US Government again.  And sadly, they have no reason to do so.

If you don't know what a Dobro is....

It's like a cross between a slide guitar and a lap steel.  And here's the best example of it I've ever heard:

Which is followed by this:

Turning in the internet router

And our cell phone service sucks out here, so don't expect much of a post from me for some time.

Hittin' the road, y'all!

And YouTube is prepping the battlefield for 2020.  They're not going to allow conservatives to communicate the way they did in 2015 and 2016.

Technofascists.
