And the Obama campaign

Is full of lying pieces of shit. That includes The Messiah Lord Barak Obama himself, the worthless arrogant asscannon.

More "support" for the troops

From the Democrat American Communist Party.

Rep. Roy Blunt, the House Republican whip, on July 8 introduced a resolution demanding that the Defense Department better enable U.S. military personnel overseas to vote in the November elections. That act was followed by silence. Democrats normally leap on an opportunity to find fault with the Bush Pentagon. But not a single Democrat joined Blunt as a co-sponsor, and an all-Republican proposal cannot pass in the Democratic-controlled House.
The Democrat American Communist Party only supports the troops when they can get some sort of political gain for doing so. Other than that, they treat us like shit. They hate us. They can't stand us. They loath the military with every fiber of their being. And it shows in their actions when they think we're not looking. The fucking anti-American fuckers.

Found at RNS, who has a whole load of good posts up today.

Sioux Falls, SD

Is today's stop. But we took a little detour first. Click for bigger.

If you want to download it, it's 795 KB. I've got a flaming assload more photos of the monument from a lot of different vantage points. I've also got quite a bit from the Little Bighorn Battlefield, but they're over 4MB each and I can only throw so much up here.

Maybe I should start a photography blog. Meh. We'll see.

South Dakota has it's own beauty that has to be seen to be appreciated. You can't get it from a photograph, although some come close. Neither the Ragin' Mrs. nor the Ragin' Stepson had ever truly understood the phrase "Big Sky Country". After the drive through Montana and South Dakota, I think they have a much better understanding.

That one is 2.6MB. And that's just a small taste. Anyone who's been there will understand. If you haven't, well, you need to make the trip during the summer. Visit Mt. Rushmore. Take I-90, or better yet, take some of the many highways that parallel the interstate. It's well worth it.

We'll be heading South tomorrow, through Iowa and ending up in Missouri. We'll be kicking around Missouri for the weekend taking care of business, and then heading up to Wisconsin through Illinois. That's the basic layout, although the Ragin' Mrs. and I are rather capricious when it comes to travel plans so long as we meet the timeline at the end. We'll be driving by something and go "Oooooo!", turn into whatever the attraction is, and spend some time. That's how we met Brutus. All 800 pounds of him.

And he's still growing!

More updates as time and internet permit. Till then.....

Rapid City, SD

Is where I'm at right now. We got off I-90 today and saw some absolutely beautiful countryside. Found one of the best damn ice cream shops I've ever eaten at in Broadus, Montana. The Copper something-or-other Antiques and Ice Cream Shop. Great stuff, and they didn't skimp at all.

Stopped at Little Bighorn Battlefield. I didn't know they had markers up at the locations where they found the bodies of the Soldiers. So you have the main monument, and then you have marble headstones on the locations of where the different soldiers fell. Some headstones have names. Some just say "U.S. Soldier, 7th Cavalry" They have a National Cemetery there as well. Lots of headstones with just a name, and "Infant" or "Child" underneath it. Life on the frontier was harsh. These headstones are a glaring reminder of just what people endured over a century ago so that I could sit here four generations later and type on a computer in South Dakota.

We're taking things slow, turning this trip into a vacation instead of just traveling straight through. We purposely avoid any national restaurants or stores, staying completely local. We ate at the Firehouse Brewing Company tonight in Rapid City. The beer was OK, but the food was good. Drooled over some buffalo hides that I can't afford and couldn't fit into the already overpacked car in any case. Strolled around the historic area of Rapid City. They have bronze statues of the founding fathers at every corner of several blocks. You couldn't find that in California if you tried. The Ragin' Mrs. hasn't been out this way before, and she's a bit surprised at the way most people are actually proud of their country. She's still suffering from Puerto Rico. It's going to take us a while to recover from that place.

We'll be swinging South to hit St. Louis and pick up my truck from VPC before we head North. If I have the internet at the next hotel, I'll keep you updated. Till then!

Barack Hussein Obama, No Pledge, No Pin, No Flag

"You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a (flag) pin. Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq war, that became a substitute for, I think, true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest..." -- Barack Obama

So Yes, No Pledge, No Pin, and look how he "fixed" O-force-One:
