OK......

So, ONE.... count 'em, ONE senator actually stood up and opposed the McCain-Feingold bill... and it wasn't a Republican?

Figures. There's a reason I told the repubs to piss off.

Victor Davis Hanson

Has put into words something that I've tried to do, and just can't do as well.

Thus, if former Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore breezily castigates Bush’s Internet supporters as “digital brownshirts”; if current Democratic-party chairman Howard Dean says publicly, “I hate the Republicans and everything they stand for" — or, “This is a struggle of good and evil. And we're the good"; or if NAACP chairman Julian Bond screams of the Bush administration that “Their idea of equal rights is the American flag and the Confederate swastika flying side by side,” the bar of public dissent has so fallen that it is easy to descend a tad closer to the bottom to compare a horrific killer to an American president.
...
Do the ghosts of six million that were incinerated — or, for that matter, the tens of millions who were killed to promote or stop Hitler’s madness — count for so little that they can be so promiscuously induced when one wishes to object to stopping the filibuster of senatorial nominations or to ignore the objection of Europeans in removing the fascistic Saddam Hussein?

There is something profoundly immoral for a latte-sipping, upscale Westerner of the postmodern age flippantly evoking Hitler when we think of the countless souls lost to the historical record who were systematically starved and gassed in the factories of death of the Third Reich.

Damn. Just damn. Go read the whole thing, because it needs to be said, over and over and over again.

Wolfowitz Derangement Syndrome

Why do the Europeans hold Paul Wolfowitz in such disdain?

It must be his well-known role in the instigation of the Iraq War, but according to the latest poll, 61.5% of post-war Iraqis now feel their country is headed in the right direction as opposed to 23.2 thinking negatively, a stunning differential of nearly 40% which dwarfs any similar polls I have ever seen about America and Europe. The only conclusion we can draw from this is perhaps we should have invaded Europe. It would have cheered them up.

DANEgerus is on a roll

Lessons learned by the Cav in Iraq. (That would be the armored and air calvary units to you civilians.)

An admission by one journalist that Iraq did indeed have WMD.

And a reminder of a sad anniversary.

By the way...

That sound you hear? That kind of "POP-splortch" sound that keeps occurring? That's the heads of Leftists who find out that Congress has opened up a small section of ANWAR for oil exploration.

I'm loving it. The collectivists are having a massive shitstorm (caused by the fecal matter being flung from their craniums as then explode).

Kim du Toit has a few comments from Democratic Underpants that will have you howling. Civil war? JUST BRING IT! And DANEgerus has a few facts about that section of ANWAR that you can use to beat your local Leftists with, including the fact that the area we'll be drilling in was set aside for the US to.... (gasp!) Explore for oil in! Gosh, how did that ever happen?

Just went surfin' and I...

...see that some poor bustard went a'Googlin' for " 'Jameson's whiskey' corporate site " and found us.

...ditto for " wacky quotes from right wing ".

...found the best-named blog on the Web.

...noted that we are linked to by WRKO in Boston. Hunh?

...and " is marriage a right? ".

...discovered we are #3 here. WTF?

DANEgerus

has been all over the Democracy movement in Lebanon, which he continues with posts like this.

Unlike the Hezbollah demonstrators with their chants of "Death to America," many in the crowd were friendly to Americans. "Thank's Free World," (sic) said one poster, held high by a woman in a bright red jacket, Rawya Okal, who told me: "We thank Mr. Bush for his position." Overhearing this in the throng, a middle-aged man in a green baseball cap, Louis Nahanna, leaned over to say, "We love the American people" - adding, "Please don't let Bush forget us. Your support is very important."

"Please don't let Bush forget us. Your support is very important."

I think that says all that needs to be said about the Bush Doctrine.

So tell me again....

Just how Chimpy H. McBushitler is destroying the environment?

Mercury from China, dust from Africa, smog from Mexico — all of it drifts freely across U.S. borders and contaminates the air millions of Americans breathe, according to recent research from Harvard University, the University of Washington and many other institutions where scientists are studying air pollution. There are no boundaries in the sky to stop such pollution, no Border Patrol agents to capture it.

Pollution wafting into the USA accounts for 30% of the nation's ozone, an important component of smog, says researcher David Parrish of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. By the year 2020, Harvard University's Daniel Jacob says, imported pollution will be the primary factor degrading visibility in our national parks.

THIRTY FREAKING PERCENT????? If President Bush allowed all the coal-fired electrical plants to take off their filters from their smokestacks, you couldn't increase pollution in this country by thirty percent! But countries like China can blow their pollution all over the place, and the lefties don't say a damn thing!

Oh, and gee, what country was exempt from the Kyoto treaty's standards? China? Gosh, you don't say!

The EPA will announce limits Tuesday on mercury emitted by U.S. power plants. But the agency estimates that 40% of the mercury that sinks out of the air and lands in the USA comes from overseas.

Think about that the next time you hear warnings about mercury polluted fish. Gah. Go read the whole thing, and then print it out so when some idiotic leftist asshat shrieks about how Bush is killing Mother Earth, you can jam a rolled up copy of this report up their ass.

Once again, for those who missed it

Communism does not work. And those who spout off about Castro's "free health care" in Cuba don't have a damn clue about what life is really like.

Here's one question that Leftists absolutely refuse to answer - If communism is so great, and Castro's country is run so well, WHY THE FUCK DON'T YOU MOVE TO CUBA?!?!?!

And the answer is quite simple - they KNOW that communism fails, and they refuse to admit it. They KNOW that every communist country has ended up a dictator controlled hellhole, and they refuse to admit it. Because in their minds, a dictator controlled hellhole is perfectly acceptible, so long as they are in control. As long as THEY have their hands on the reins of power, they don't care about anything else. Which is why they'll never admit that communism never works.

It's all about power, and who wants it.

Continue hammering people with the truth, Val.

On Illegal Aliens and National ID Cards

Just another reason to avoid national ID cards like the plague. Whenever someone talks about having a National ID card for "security" reasons, ask why the government can't stop illegal aliens from working at nuclear power plants, sub bases, MRE factories, or aircraft maintainence facilities. All of which you need a social security number to work at.

Y'know, those highly secured numbers that are controlled by the Federal government? Yeah, those. Tell me again how a government that can't even maintain security over numbers that indicade tax dollars coming into the treasury for decades is supposed to control the security of a national ID card. They can't, flat out. Any claims of added security are bullshit.

And speaking of DANEgerus, he's still on a role with this entry on the failure of the Has-Been Media to account for their complete and total abdecation of any journalistic standards.

Readership and audiences of the mainstream media are dropping like a stone, but the reporting by the mainstream media on Rathergate and Easongate give little sign that anyone understands why. CJR Daily managing editor Steve Lovelady gave a pretty accurate consensus of the mainstream media's view of what the real problem was: the bloggers did it! Rather and Jordan went down, he said, because: "The salivating morons who make up the lynch mob prevail."

If it takes “salivating morons” to get major news organizations to clean up their acts and remember Journalism 101, may they slobber on -- before the American people stop paying any attention to big media at all. In the end, as The Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz points out, Jordan only resigned “following a relentless campaign by online critics but scant coverage in the mainstream press.” Those of us in mainstream media had better ask why we didn’t do a better job ourselves.

If you think that the media bias is all hooey, go read this. Modern journalists are blaming their problems on the blogosphere, which is partially the case. But as usual with the Has-Been Media, it's only half the story.

Let's be frank - If Dan Rather and Mary Mapes hadn't been such left-leaning individuals, if they and people like them hadn't turned CBS into just another mouth of the Democratic Party, if they hadn't have run OBVIOUSLY FAKE MEMOS as a leading story, if they hadn't tried to cover up SUCH CONCLUSIVELY FAKE MEMOS, if they hadn't defended Dan Rather who tried to defend HORRIBLY FAKE MEMOS, then the blogosphere really wouldn't have had much to talk about. Yeah, we'd bitch and moan about how Dan Rather was a leftist turd, but we would not have been able to prove that he used FAKE AS A THREE DOLLAR BILL MEMOS as a top story. But he did. And he's still a Leftist asshat who's so caught up with his own self-importance that he refuses to admit that he used FAKE AS PAMELA ANDERSON'S BREASTS MEMOS, even though everybody and their uncle knows that they're fake. And then the Has-Been Media wonders why viewership is at an all time low?

Is the blogosphere a problem for the media? Yes. But only because the media, by and large, has no ethics, no standards, no fact-checking, no spin control, and no bias control. The media, by and large, is worthless.

Oh That "specialized machinery from the arms establishment that the war was aimed at neutralizing"

Kevin P at Blogs for Bush points us to a story in a liberal rag regarding the "specialized machinery from the arms establishment that
the war was aimed at nuetralizing" or (as they'd call them any time they were telling you they didn't exist) "WMD".

In the weeks after Baghdad fell in April 2003, looters systematically dismantled and removed tons of machinery from Saddam Hussein's most important weapons installations, including some with high-precision equipment capable of making parts for nuclear arms.....

Of course, it is framed as (hold your nose in the air and use a snooty sounding aristocrat voice as you mock them thusly) "Mere looters foiled the plans of stupid Bush and his stupid military. He didn't caaaare about securing the WMD." They usually bite their forked tongues before verbally impugning our soldiers despite the fact that they are the one's being impugned when they say "Bush". The part about not caring about securing the WMD is the new (goal post shifted) accusatory meme being worked into the hole busted into the bubble that is their world view by "the possibility that the specialized machinery from the arms establishment that the war was aimed at neutralizing had made its way to the black market or was in the hands of foreign governments". "Give inspections time to work." I guess by that they meant, "Give Saddam a chance to move his WMD to Syria." which does nothing to explain their deer in headlights stare ever time we bring up THIS very "possibility" in response to their "no WMD" bullsh*t meme. [petulant stupid child]We should have given inspectors more time! But Bush should have MADE those soldiers find the WMD in the "first few weeks" of Operation Iraqi Freedom then they wouldn't have been looted! We DEMAND perfection![/petulant stupid child] Leftists have no shame, for excusing this literary slight of hand as acceptable makes one vile, stupid, or some combination of both.
