H.R. 418

Anybody know what that is? It's the House Resolution calling for a National ID card.

Much bad juju! DANGER, WILL ROBINSON! DANGER!

Folks, I remember talking about this many moons ago, and I know that Kim du Toit had a post up about it the last time this topic surfaced. The bottom line is this:

We do not need, nor should we want, any form of National ID card.

For starters, having a national ID card is nothing but a canard for ulterior motives. Don't believe me? Think of all the items of paperwork that are demanded in order to prove that you're a US citizen. Your birth cirtificate. Your social security number. Many of these items are already used as a form of national ID, and has it made life any better? No. They can still be copied, they can still be fabricated and couterfeited. Can anyone dispute that a national ID card won't immidiately have the same thing happen? No, not with a straight face.

Two - there are other options if people want national ID cards. They're called passports, and any US citizen can get one. Why should we institute a national ID card when there's already a form of National ID that is available?

Three - HR 418 would require that sensitive information be shared with Canada and Mexico.

Um, 'nuff said? Why the hell should we be sharing an information about our citizens with other countries other than what is aboslutely needed, i.e. "Yes, He/She is an American"?

Four: Given the propensity of some politicians to push for driver's licenses for illigal aliens, who can dispute that once a national ID card is in the works, these same politicians won't immidiately start pushing for these cards to be issued to the same illigal aliens that they're advocating for now?

This is a horrible idea, and the fact that nobody can give me any kind of good reason for a national ID card that can't already be provided with current means does nothing to reassure me.

Contact your Senator and tell them to shoot this thing down.

Scratch a Democrat, find a dictator

I firmly expect the local mouth-breathing idiots to try to screech about the source of this, but that's only because they can't refute it.

Schweizer, after scouring once-classified KGB, East German Stasi and Soviet Communist Party files, discovered incontrovertible evidence that the Soviets not only played footsie with high-ranking Democrats, they also worked behind the scenes to influence American elections.

In "Reagan's War," Schweizer shows how the Democrats worked with Moscow to try to undermine Reagan before and after he became president.

Soviet diplomatic accounts and material from the archives show that in January 1984 former President Jimmy Carter dropped by Soviet Ambassador Anatoly Dobrynin's residence for a private meeting.

Carter expressed his concern about and opposition to Reagan's defense buildup. He boldly told Dobrynin that Moscow would be better off with someone else in the White House. If Reagan won, he warned, "There would not be a single agreement on arms control, especially on nuclear arms, as long as Reagan remained in power."

Using the Russians to influence the presidential election was nothing new for Carter.

Schweizer reveals Russian documents that show that in the waning days of the 1980 campaign, the Carter White House dispatched businessman Armand Hammer to the Soviet Embassy.

Hammer was a longtime Soviet-phile, and he explained to the Soviet ambassador that Carter was "clearly alarmed" at the prospect of losing to Reagan.

Given the propensity of the Democrats to espouse Communist ideals, and given the Democrats powerbase openly opposing every American ideal that they can, it should come as no surprise that the Democrats are essentially Communists who simply can't admit it to the sane people of this country.

When I call the American Left nothing but communists and socialists, I'm not joking.

Take what he's having, and spread it around.

Because he's dead on.

When you talk to a 20-something German factory worker, and they say that they can't wait to make it to their 40's, so they can start sucking off their pension checks, it shouldn't require much deduction to find the problem. Talk to the same 20-something American factory worker, and he'll probably tell you not to waste his time, he's pulling a double shift to help pay off his new Corvette.

The bottom line is, Americans have no obligation to soothe the aches and clothe the bodies of those in the world who aren't willing to stand up for their own freedom, nor work for their own success. We do, in many ways, and to many times the degree of other nations, out of compassion and friendship. But we do not have to. We are not obligated to do so simply because some idiot thinks it's a moral sin for a "certain kind" of people to stand at an SUV dealership and wonder, gee, do I want the tan leather or the white?

The prattling socialist nimrods of the world think John Q. Taxpayer should give the $60,000 he wants to spend on a Cadillac Escalade to those who "need it" more than he does, even though he's the one who created the wealth he spends. They're the same ones who don't think there should be "winners" or "losers" in society, the same who think personal responsibility is a naughty word.

Well, those of us who are not insane don't, and that's why we have more millionaires per capita than any nation in the history of the planet.

Damn, I love it when people hit the nails on the head.

Busy as all hell

But I'm pretty sure you all knew that anyways. Life is going pretty good right now, no complaints. I'm getting paperwork and other things in order, working, working around the parent's house, and all in all staying as busy as a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest.

But something that I thought was cool as hell can be found over here at RNS. David Horowitz has compiled a website called Discover the Network that tracks all the sticky links between the various leftist groups and people.

Go check it out. My old embarassment, Baghdad Jim McDermott is there, as well as a host of other people. It's worth a perusal.

Jobless claims post unexpected fall

This seems like good news.

The number of Americans claiming initial jobless benefits fell unexpectedly by 2,000 last week to the lowest level in more than four years as the U.S. labor market continued to strengthen, a government report showed Thursday.
Peter Jennings' lead story, no doubt.

Lowest level in 4 years

Debunking The 9/11 Myths

A long ways back (so far back that i cannot find the post), I posted some links to 9/11 conspiracy sites -- you know, the ones where it was cruise missle that hit the Pentagon and cell phone calls from Flight 93 were impossible...

Popular Mechanics has responded with some debunkery.

An excellent summation

For a wonderful piece on North Korean nukes and the reasons thereof, go read John Cross.

Kim Jong Il beat Clinton and Carter...that is evident in the fact that he now is claiming that he has WMD's. He was brought up to their level...a petty tin-horn with spazzed-out hair and a vertical challenge...brought to the level of the American President(s). And, he got over on them. He did what he wanted, got what he wanted, and laughed all the way to the bank. He only got verbose after he saw that the new American President saw right through the bullcrap. He only started throwing his tantrum when Bush called him out.
I'd be much happier if I couldn't gloat at the Donks right now, telling them just how wrong they've been. I'd be much happier if ONE SINGLE DEMOCRAT would come out and admit that Carter and Clinton screwed the pooch.

But I don't think I can forsee any happiness in the near future.

A Leftist finally tells the truth.

As related by Kicking Broadswords.

My American Presidency class had just gotten out and a couple of us stood around discussing politics. The teacher (Democrat) asked if there was anything we agreed with about the Democratic Party and the president of the College Republicans brought up public education. I did my John Dewey socialist rant and when that didn't seem to work I brought up the Constitution. I asked him where in the Constitution the feds have the power to control education. He acknowledged that it didn't but remarked:

"I don't really believe in the Constitution"
We already know that most Leftists would just as soon wipe their ass with the Constitution rather than follow it, so it's nice that this example felt comfortable enough to admit what we already know.
