I’m sure that Obama, whatever he said during the campaign, will play this smart. He has to avoid giving Iraqi leaders the feeling that Bush did — that he’ll wait forever for them to sort out their politics — while also not suggesting that he is leaving tomorrow, so they all start stockpiling weapons.
If he can pull this off, and help that decent Iraq take root, Obama and the Democrats could not only end the Iraq war but salvage something positive from it. Nothing would do more to enhance the Democratic Party’s national security credentials than that.

A Federal Communications Commission investigation of on-air military analysts is providing a glimpse of what Democrats and an Obama administration will do to critics once they capture Washington.
The FCC has sent letters to some of the nation's most prominent military analysts -- some of them pro-President Bush and pro-war -- suggesting they may have broken the law when they appeared on television stations to comment on and explain the war on terrorism.
The FCC investigation raises the question of whether a Democrat-controlled Congress and White House next year will investigate -- and perhaps criminalize -- all sorts of actions taken by the Bush administration. Obama is leading in all presidential polls, while Democrats are set to greatly increase their hold on the House and Senate.

In order for a thing to be a "right", it has to happen without any effort from any other person. A right cannot be given to you. IT CAN ONLY BE INFRINGED UPON.
Freedom of Religion - nobody has to lift a finger in order for you to worship as you wish Freedom of Speech - nobody has to do anything in order for you to speak your mind Freedom of the Press - nobody has to blink in order for you to set up a printing press if you want to. Freedom to Petition - Go right ahead. Pull out a pad of paper, write a grievance, and get some signatures. Freedom to Assemble - PARTY AT MY PLACE! Right to Bear Arms - probably the clearest definition of how a right can only be infringed upon. All people can do is infringe on this right. There's no way it can be given to anyone, it can only be taken away, and has been in many states.
So on and so forth. The Bill of Rights was set on paper to ensure that the government wouldn't fuck it up. But our government has fucked it up regardless, mainly because for the past fifty years, with a couple of exceptions, the government has been made up of greedy fucking parasites that couldn't tie their own shoes without some poll telling them which foot to tie first.
But now some idiotic fuckstick comes up with their so-called bill of rights, but for this brainless dipshit to get his bill of rights someone else will have to pay for it!

Someone has linked him to the long-deceased Charles Keating, suggesting that somehow Obama managed to pick a McCain plant out of a ropeline full of people by accident. How much longer before a certain blogger at The Atlantic demands a paternity test to see if Joe the Plumber fathered Sarah Palin’s baby — or Bristol’s, for that matter?
There is a stench of desperation surrounding this, as if they sense defeat coming from a moment of honesty from Obama about his real intentions to institute a regime of redistribution. They want to discredit the man who only asked the question as if he’s some political operative who magically forced Obama to sound … well, a little like a Marxist. Why? Vote from Home is a political organization that was founded by a team of young people for the purpose of assisting, aiding, and tracking voters to elect progressive candidates to the White House. For those who don't know (and given the state of US Education today I really can't blame you for that) the 17th Amendment to the US constitution took the US Senate, which was elected by STATE legislatures, and changed it so that the US Senate was elected by popular vote in the state.
In short, we have two houses of Representatives now. One very critical check in the system of checks and balances was removed. The Senate might as well not exist, because it's been changed to resemble something else.

Two Ohio voters, including Domino's pizza worker Christopher Barkley , claimed yesterday that they were hounded by the community-activist group ACORN to register to vote several times, even though they made it clear they'd already signed up.
Barkley estimated he'd registered to vote "10 to 15" times after canvassers for ACORN, whose political wing has endorsed Barack Obama, relentlessly pursued him and others.

Nevada state authorities seized records and computers Tuesday from the Las Vegas office of an organization that tries to get low-income people registered to vote, after fielding complaints of voter fraud.
Bob Walsh, spokesman for the Nevada secretary of state's office, told FOXNews.com the raid was prompted by ongoing complaints about "erroneous" registration information being submitted by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.
The group was submitting the information through a voter sign-up drive known as Project Vote.
"Some of them used nonexistent names, some of them used false addresses and some of them were duplicates of previously filed applications," Walsh said, describing the complaints, which largely came from the registrar in Clark County, Nev.

But Kromberg has argued that a grand jury subpoena is not cooperation, but rather it is a compelled statement. When Al-Arian refused to testify despite a grant of immunity, he was subject to civil contempt orders that extended his incarceration for months.
Mike Gravel(D) is not just willing to defend a terrorist but is in fact threatening children of public servants tasked with bringing that terrorist to justice. A vomitous coward demonstrating exactly the tactics we've seen his party adopt repeatedly to veil the threat to innocents.

Rep. Roy Blunt, the House Republican whip, on July 8 introduced a resolution demanding that the Defense Department better enable U.S. military personnel overseas to vote in the November elections. That act was followed by silence. Democrats normally leap on an opportunity to find fault with the Bush Pentagon. But not a single Democrat joined Blunt as a co-sponsor, and an all-Republican proposal cannot pass in the Democratic-controlled House.
