And her boyfriend was there, and he shot at the cops first after they announced they were there. It's amazing what you find out when there's actual penalties for lying your ass off.
People looking to blame Taylor's death on anyone but Taylor herself should point to the boyfriend who opened fire on police officers. At that point, officers have every right to defend themselves.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Help your drug-dealing loser boyfriend run illegal drugs out of your apartment, the cops are going to show up at some point. When your loser drug-dealing boyfriend opens fire on the cops, the cops have every right to return fire.
And the city officials who allowed the lies to spread are just as culpable for the violence that's going on right now.

The police lost their "rights" the moment they busted his door down. A citizen does NOT lose his constitutional rights until he is CONVICTED of a crime. Period. Do you really believe ANY of those cops would allow someone to bust down their door in the middle of the night and not defend themselves? Of course they wouldn't. Wrong is wrong. Police have no right whatsoever, under the constitution to invade your house when they have no evidence that you are an immediate threat to yourself or anyone else. A drug dealer doesn't qualify. Am I on the thugs side. Of course not. But it's a fact. Law enforcement has taken a wrong turn on these types of home invasions.
Let's coddle criminals some more - that'll make it go away right??? We have kissed black ass for how long and where has that got us? Sorry if this is not PC but, I am tired of riots and looting being called "peaceful". Criminals like this one deserve no special dispensation from God. The vile filth they purvey needs to be removed from the earth but, here we have somebody standing up for them. Sorry Chuck, you are part of the problem.

In point of fact, the police have no rights at all.
Only The People have rights.
Government, and the police are government, has powers.
Warrants and the service thereof is a power granted to government, by The People, in the constitution.
Laws passed by legislators who've been elected by The People define how this power will be executed. Policies made by Chief LEO's who've been elected or appointed by those elected by The People decide how these laws will be applied.
If you don't like HOW warrants are being served, you're left with convincing your congresscritters to change the laws or getting your local chief LEO to change their policies.
