Long day today

No free ice cream.  Perhaps you'd enjoy a selection from the sidebar on the right?

So, if you're wondering what to get me for Christmas....

This'll do nicely.

The bacon added is a nice touch, I think.

I'm about at the point of saying "Screw the GOP"

Boehner, that spineless, boot-licking quisling, lied to his own people in order to get Obama's CRomnibus passed.

And yes, I'm calling it Obama's CRomnibus.  It gave Obama everything he wanted, wrapped up in a neat little bow and a couple of chocolate kisses on top.  And Boehner made it happen.

Boehner's staff says he didn't make any such pledge.  Who are you going to believe?  The guys who voted against the CRomnibus, or the guy who was begging liberal Democrats for their votes to pass the CRomnibus?

CRomnibus passes the House

At least I can say that my Representative voted against it.  This is just another example of John Boehner putting DC politics and favoritism above what's best for this country.  Boehner must go.  BOEHNER DELENDA EST!

John Boehner is a clueless cunt

Hey Johnny Boy!  When the people rallying on your side include BARACK THE LYING SHITHEAD OBAMA, you're way off in the rough.

And you still think this Cromnibus is a good idea?  Screw you, John.  In one month you have managed to throw away the huge advantage handed to you in the last election, and you're sucking shit from BARACK THE LYING FUCKWAD OBAMA in order to try to push your bullshit through the House.

When your best ally is BARACK THE LYING CANKER-SORE OBAMA, YOU ARE ON THE WRONG FUCKING SIDE, YOU DAMNED IDIOTIC WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT!

Ragin' Dave's Fact of the Day

Whenever the Democrat Party gets control of a "Public Integrity Unit", all semblance of "Public Integrity" goes away.

That DUI judge down in Texas, for example.

And the Department of Justice.

Seriously, a Democrat in charge of the Public Integrity Unit is just about as Orwellian as you can possibly get.  It's doubleplusungood!

Trojan horse

Is anyone else getting an advert popping up when they click on this blog?  I'm having it happen to two different blogs right now, and I'm about to tear my computer apart looking for the worm.

Here ya go, folks

The summary of the Omnibus bill.  Over $1 Trillion dollars!

To include almost $1 Billion for "unaccompanied children", i.e. illegal aliens crossing our border.  I bet there's crap that that buried all through the bill.

So Gruber is testifying to Congress right now

About his lies and bullshit.

Quite frankly there is nothing Congress can say to him that would equal what he deserves to hear.  There is nothing Congress can do to him that would equal what he deserves to have happen to him.  This lying, slimy, arrogant piece of elitist aristocratic shit needs to be tarred, feathered, and then put in stocks for the public he holds in such distain to throw rotten produce at him.

He needs to be humiliated and punished so horribly in public that the next lying, slimy, arrogant piece of elitist aristocratic shit fears to even contemplate that action.

The name "Gruber" needs to be turned into a verb.  "Dude, don't do that, you'll get Grubered!"

A productive weekend

I started a five-gallon batch of cherry melomel, a three-gallon batch of straight mead, two three-gallon batches of hard cider (one with an English cider yeast, and one with an ale yeast).  I botted a three gallon batch of orange-blossom honey mead, two test batches of chocolate mead (they need some aging, but they taste like they're going to be awesome) and helped the Mrs. clean around the house.

Oh, and I got to sit at a cigar shop and watch my Seahawks kick some Eagle ass.

On top of all that, there was much pipe tobacco smoked, many books read, and much relaxation.

That there is a good weekend.

I have a rosary

Like most traditional Catholics, I have a rosary, and I use it to pray.  My rosary isn't anything special; it's made of camo-colored yarn.  The "beads" are knots that have been tied in the yarn, and I've accented the beads for the "Our Father" with copper wire so that I can feel them when I reach them.

What makes this rosary special to me is the crucifix.  The crucifix came from a rosary that my Grandfather carried with him as he served in the Navy during World War Two.  Five years floating around the Pacific ocean, fighting pretty much the entire time.  When I was getting ready to go to Afghanistan, my mom pulled this crucifix out and gave it to me.  It had been in my father's possession since my Grandfather's funeral.  I took the plain crucifix off my rosary, and put Grandpa's on.

My Grandfather was just doing a hitch in the Navy; he was born in South Dakota, and the Navy was his way of getting out of the Midwest and seeing the world.  And then, Pearl Harbor.  December 7th.  Today's date.

Needless to say, he did more than just a hitch.  I don't know the exact date my Grandfather was in; his records were destroyed in a fire in the 1960's, along with a much of other military service records.  I know he was already in the Navy when my Father was born in 1940.  He got out after the war was done, and went into journalism of all things.  He died in the early 90's.

I've got some prayers to say today.  I'll be using Grandpa's crucifix.

Today is December 7th

A day that shall live in infamy, as some guy once said.  Just a wee bit of his historical significance.

Here's the page for Bing today:

A very nice homage to the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor.  I've been to that memorial.  I've looked down into the gun turrets and seen the oil still dripping to the top of the water like tears in reverse.  It was a powerful moment, even though I was a little kid and still didn't understand everything about it.

And here is the page for Google today:

And this is why I try never to use anything from Google.  I have an epic rant just bursting to come out, but it's Sunday and I'm trying to maintain on semblance of peace on the Lord's day.

I'll never use Chrome, and I'll use Bing or Yahoo to do my web searches.  If there were another free blogging engine out there, I'd use that as well just to get away from Google.
