Why would the Marines be disarmed during a Panetta speech?
Well, the simple answer for that is because Leon Panetta is a fucking political douche-nozzle, a political tool that Obama is using to systematically destroy the US Military, and a life-long anti-American fuckhead.

The story goes that Erich Hartmann, the WW2 German fighter Ace was to be presented the Knight's Cross with Crossed Swords, Oak Leaves, Diamonds and Whatnot of the Iron Cross by Hitler himself. Hartman had a pistol that Hitler's entourage wanted to confiscate for the duration of the ceremony. Hartmann allegedly refused, saying that if Herr Hitler didn't want his pistol, he didn't want Herr Hitler's medal.
For someone who has sworn to protect the nation and the constitution from all enemies, to be disarmed is a tremendous insult to their honor, something I would be very careful doing, since as the Marines' Hymn says, they are "first to fight for right and freedom and to keep our honor clean."
