Check this out

I was reading the news from yesterday, and this little story caught my eye: "White House lashes out at Fox News" I scroll through it, and get to this little nugget:

News, it isn't unprecedented for a president and his administration to feud openly with the media. George W. Bush and CBS came to blows in 2004 after Dan Rather alleged on 60 Minutes II that Bush had used his family's connections to manipulate his enlistment in the National Guard to avoid serving in combat in Vietnam, an incident that led to the firing of CBS producer Mary Mapes and badly tarnished Rather's reputation as an objective newsman.
That's it, right there. Not ONE SINGLE MENTION of the fact that Dan Rather and SEE-BS news used a completely and totally fake memo in their attempt to derail George W. Bush. Not one mention of the forgery that was so obviously a fraud that any idiot with two functioning brain cells could tell it was fake. Not one mention of the fact that CBS "News" got caught flat out LYING. Not one mention of the fact that CBS "News" got caught MAKING SHIT UP.

In all the kerfuffle about Charles Johnson and Little Green Footballs, let's not forget that before LGF went off the deep end into loony-land, it was LGF that put up the proof that the memo Dan Rather was trying to pass off as an authentic 70's era military memo was created in MICROSOFT WORD, using the default type and default formatting. It was such an obvious fake that it exposed Dan Rather as a worthless, partisan hack who had to business being anywhere near a news room.

But Mr. Brett Michael Dykes doesn't even see fit to mention it in his little story. And they wonder why we don't trust the media any more?

Chicago got kicked to the curb

By the IOC, which is fine and dandy with me. A co-worker of mine told me that Chicago was actually in the lead until the video of that student getting beaten to death came out.

I guess Olympic Athletes don't like the possibility of getting chased through the streets by two-by-four wielding thugs. Who woulda thunk it?

HAH!: Who knew the IOC were racists? That's funny right there, I don't care WHO you are!

Cash for Clunkers: Appliance

Yes folks it continues...

You can read more about it here.

Not only do I see this as more excess government spending, but giving what Cash for Clunkers Auto did for the car dealership industry I have to ask is it going to do the same to the appliance industry?

send a pink slip to congress

This article discusses the newest program to get through to Congress. For $29.95 you can send a pink slip to all 535 members of the House of Representatives and Senate. It tells them that:
The "pink slip" each official will get is a reminder that they work for the taxpayers. Each is individually printed with the sender's contact information under the closing salutation "Signed, Your Employer:".

The warning lists four key issues that are deemed unacceptable to program participants:

  • government health care
  • cap and trade
  • "hate crimes"
  • any more spending
"If you vote for any of these, your real pink slip will be issued in the next election," it warns.

I quite honestly don't know if this will work...

Did they realize who they would be letting in?

House Opposes Transfer Of Guantanamo Detainees To US The AP258-163 to go on record "against allowing detainees at the Guantanamo Bay...to be transferred to the United States, even to face trial or to be jailed in maximum-security prisons." The vote was on a nonbinding recommendation. reports the House voted

pleasepleasepleasepleasePLEASE!

I can only hope he's right. The problem that I have is not with Mr. Alger's logic, but with the people in high places who currently make and judge the laws. We're not living in a sane society anymore. We're living in Bizarro World. The group of people who are going to decide this case are the SAME group, more or less, who decided Kelo vs. New London and McCain-Feingold were perfectly OK.

They also decided Heller. So it's kind of a crap-shoot, innit?

I'm crossing my fingers over here, boss.

Sigh.....

OK, if there are any homosexuals who read my blog, I just want to say something really quick, and I don't know if I'll be getting a shit for it or not.

This guy does not help your cause. If you want to de-link homosexuality and pedophilia in the minds of the public, you need to start getting rid of the pedophiles rather than celebrating and protecting them.

Now, let the flaming begin.

analyzing Obama's speach on health care

They have made it easy and have a written dialog so if you don't want to hear his grating voice that you can just read along. My suggestion is to just wait for the crowd to applause and listen to the 10 seconds before that.

I realize this is a little old, but for those who are interested...

At 20:54 is where he starts address the folks "who have grown nervous about reform"

At 22:18 is where Joe Wilson says "You Lie"!

Have fun. I really don't think I can listen to much more.

soy, soy everywhere. Is this O.K. or just cruel and unusual punishment

I debated about posting this because I have very little sympathy for criminals. It talks about how Illinois prisoners are fed an EXTREMELY high Soy diet. This was started by Blago and implemented by the Illinois Prison system and supplied by one of his biggest supporters, Archer Daniel Midlands.

Quite honestly I can see the benefit to feminizing male prisoners, less muscle, less strength, more mood swings....

But, as someone who suffers from food allergies I do find this cruel and unusual punishment. Unfortunately if you look at most prepared foods it is next to impossible to find them without some form of soy. It is even harder than finding gluten free or corn free foods, and that it very difficult. Though my bigger issue is what is in MRE's and other food that is being fed to our Armed Forces. These are the people that need all of their muscle, to be in top form, and can't afford those extra mood swings.

Just think about that next time you go to the grocery store.

Chicago's gun ban is being heard by the Supreme Court

This is very similar to D.C. v. Heller. I can only hope that they support the 2nd Amendment again.

Safe School Czar, isn't

In this article it talks about how a 15 year old male student approached him admitting to having a sexual relationship with a much older man. But, Kevin Jennings not only failed to report it, but encouraged the relationship.

Our past is a beautiful and powerful thing. Few others than BO can make it disappear, and even his is slowly appearing. It tells people who we are, what we stand for and where we have been. Yes, we all make mistakes. Hopefully we learn from our mistakes...

National Guard no longer qualifies for federal retirement because they are State employees?

But the White House said Sept. 25 that's it's not "appropriate to establish a precedent of treating service performed by a state employees as active duty for purposes of the computation of retired pay."

This came directly from BO our current POTUS. The point of it was to cut military spending when he advised Congress to cut off pension to 26 WWII Alaska National Guard soldiers. He is concerned about the priorities of the budget and thinks this is the place to go with it. Can we not give him his retirement when he is done damaging this country at the end of this term? Please? Please? Please?

another proud liberal supporter crook

I am not going to waste much space on this. If I believed this was the exception instead of the rule I wouldn't waste any space on it. But, it is sooooo typical.

follow the crooked money from the crooked embezzler supporter.

Senate Majority Leader cancells October recess to punish our elected officials and bully them into passing health care reform.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has cancelled the Senate’s Columbus Day recess so that lawmakers can focus on passing healthcare reform legislation during the week of Oct. 12.

This is the same man that won't decide on a public option until he sees the final draft. Is he in support of the BO's government control? Does he want to look like he supports BO's plan even though he secretly fears it? Is he in support of leaving the health care the way it is?

Currently the new deadline for health care reform is Thanksgiving. I say we may it when we get the next POTUS, so it can be VETO'd!

It is amazing how people think

Rep. Alan Grayson:
"Do you want the Democratic plan or do you want the Republican plan? Remember, the Republican plan: don't get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly."

By the way, Republicans are calling for an apology.

Now he has considered offering an apology...

“I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven’t voted sooner to end this holocaust in America,”
he said on the House floor Wednesday afternoon.

My! Now isn't that nice.

NO!

No no no no no no NO! Bobby's got so 'splainin to do.

Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal urged his party Tuesday to shift to offering health care solutions instead of just rejecting what President Barack Obama and the Democratic majority in Congress are proposing.

“I think now is the perfect time to pivot and to say, not only here’s what we’re against, and not only here’s how we’re going to contrast ourselves, but here’s what we’re for,” Jindal said in an interview with POLITICO.

Jindal acknowledged that the Republican Party for years had been too slow to stake out positions on the health care debate “to our peril and the nation’s peril.”

Unless the Republican's position is "GET THE GOVERNMENT THE FUCK OUT OF HEALTHCARE", you can cross Jindal of the 2012 list. I ain't buying it.

And by the way

Can we find any more examples of the indoctrination happening at our schools? I mean, I can't think of any better reason to keep your kids out of public schools than the bullshit that's going on right now.

Hat tip to C&S.

Did she really say that?????

Good God.

“As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days,” the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, “so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home.”

Oh no. Oh hell no. This is yet another quote that details just how much the Left thinks of themselves as royalty. What next, the sacrifice of eating Fillet Mignon instead of Kobe beef?

Can you say OUT OF TOUCH?!?!?! Can you say NO CLASS???

Senate says no to public option

I'll apologize right now for just posting this as it came to my email. I will say that I really like this email bulletin because it lets me know what several news sources are saying. Unfortunately it is too early for me to edit this morning. Happy reading.

Senate Panel Nixes Public Option
In what media accounts are casting as a serious setback for the President and lawmakers who back the so-called "public option," the Senate Finance Committee yesterday voted against including the provision in the bill sponsored by Sen. Max Baucus. Reports also remark on GOP unity against the "public option," which they compare to the Democratic division apparent in yesterday's committee votes. All three networks and major print outlets covered the development, with the CBS Evening News concluding that the "public insurance option seems all but dead in the Senate," and the AP reporting that "liberal Democrats twice failed on Tuesday to inject a government-run insurance option into sweeping health care legislation taking shape in the Senate."
McClatchy calls it "the first significant setback for the centerpiece of...Obama's health care overhaul." ABC World News called the development "a setback...for the President and liberal Democrats," and NBC Nightly News said that while "the public option is not officially dead, today's vote is telling." The New York Times reports this morning that "the votes...underscored divisions among Democrats," were "a setback for...Obama" and "vindicated the middle-of-the-road approach taken by the committee chairman," Sen. Max Baucus. The Los Angeles Times similarly says the votes underscored "the depth of division among Democratic leaders pressing for healthcare legislation as well as the solid Republican opposition."
McClatchy says that "Senate Democrats appeared to be dividing into three important camps: those solidly behind Baucus," those "reluctantly leaning in his direction and a handful of wild cards, who'll wield great influence." CNN's The Situation Room reported that the "one-two punch to the idea of a government-run health care option could signal its death." Fox News' Special Report said that Democratic leaders now "know they do not have the votes in the US Senate to pass the so-called public option, the government-run insurance program." The Washington Post calls the votes "a crippling blow to the hopes of liberals seeking to expand the federal role in health coverage as a cornerstone of reform."
CNN's The Situation Room likewise reported that "Democratic leadership sources...say that what you saw today, that is a Democratic priority, a public option, defeated with help of conservative Democrats, that it's really a prelude to what they believe will happen on the Senate floor. But if you listen to Democratic supporters who are so passionate about this, it sounded like they were incredibly positive."
Democrats Want Obama To Be "Final Arbiter" Politico reports that "squabbling Democrats are looking to the president to be the final arbiter of whether they include the public option." Roll Call, in fact, reports that "the White House has been secretly drafting its own health care legislation that it may unveil at some point during the debate if officials believe it would help secure passage of a bill, according to sources familiar with the effort." In his "The Take" column, Dan Balz writes in the Washington Post that for Obama, "the time of hanging back is quickly coming to an end if he hopes to find the 60 votes needed to pass a bill in the Senate."

Quote of the Day

"If Roman Polanski had been a Jesuit priest, Hollywood would be screaming for his head right now."

But he's not. He's an "award winning director". He's being defended by the film industry. Nice petition.

And they wonder why we call them depraved?

Oh, and here's a quote from Polanski that just screams out how pure at heart he is:

"Judges want to fuck young girls. Juries want to fuck young girls. Everybody wants to fuck young girls!"
Ya know, maybe when I was 13 I wanted to fuck young girls. And older girls. And older women. Hell, when I was 13 I wanted to fuck anything with two tits, a hole and a heartbeat.

But I didn't want to drug them and rape them and sodomize them. So I really don't think I can follow where he's going.

Sharing the pain....

I got this in my email...

On my 60th birthday, I got a gift certificate from my wife. The certificate paid for a visit to a medicine man living on a nearby indian reservation who was rumored to have a wonderful cure for erectile dysfunction. After being persuaded, I drove to the reservation, handed my ticket to the medicine man and wondered what would happen next.

The old man slowly, methodically produced a potion, handed it to me, and with a grip on my shoulder, warned, "This is powerful medicine and it must be respected. You take only a teaspoonful and then say '1-2-3. 'When you do that, you will become more manly than you have ever been in your life and you can perform as long as you want."

I was encouraged. As I walked away, I turned and asked, "How do I stop the medicine from working?" "Your partner must say '1-2-3-4,' he responded. "But when she does, the medicine will not work again until the next full moon." I was eager to see if it worked so I went home,
showered, shaved, took a spoonful of the medicine, and then invited my wife to join me in the bedroom. When she came in, I took off my clothes and said, "1-2-3!"

Immediately, I was the manliest of men. My wife was excited and began throwing off her clothes. And then she asked, "What was the 1-2-3 for?"

And that, boys and girls, is why we should NEVER end our sentences with a preposition.

One could end up with a dangling participle...

Yeah. My friends know I'm a sucker for a bad pun......

Duelling Quotes

I love the quotes from the comments at this thread over at Kevin Baker's place.

Who famously said: "Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for." and "Things in our country run in spite of government, not by aid of it.".

He also said: "There ought to be one day - just one - when there is open season on senators."

He was obviously a Reich-wing gun-nut, advocating the killing of elected officials!

"The difference between death and taxes is death doesn't get worse every time Congress meets".

"Alexander Hamilton started the U.S. Treasury with nothing -- and that was the closest our country has ever been to being even."

"Budget: A mythical beanbag. Congress votes mythical beans into it, and then tries to reach in and pull beans out."
- Will Rogers

Then there's Mark Twain:

"That's the difference between governments and individuals. Governments don't care, individuals do."

"The mania for giving the Government power to meddle with the private affairs of cities or citizens is likely to cause endless trouble, through the rivaly of schools and creeds that are anxious to obtain official recognition, and there is great danger that our people will lose our independence of thought and action which is the cause of much of our greatness, and sink into the helplessness of the Frenchman or German who expects his government to feed him when hungry, clothe him when naked, to prescribe when his child may be born and when he may die, and, in fine, to regulate every act of humanity from the cradle to the tomb, including the manner in which he may seek future admission to paradise."

"Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself."

"There is something good and motherly about Washington, the grand old benevolent National Asylum for the helpless."

"The difference between death and taxes is death doesn't get worse every time Congress meets".

Will must not have looked too closely at inheritance taxes.

You could pull multiple Quotes of the Day outta there......

Here's my beef with Rod Dreher

In his Dallas News editorial denouncing Glenn Beck:

There are conservatives who know perfectly well that Beck is an unhinged buffoon who traffics in crude, ridiculous ideas. But unlike the hapless GOP, he's popular and effective in the political war against Obama. So these conservative cynics adopt a "no enemies to the right" approach to Beck, even though he's mainstreaming the ooga-booga worldview of a crank prophet who believed, with the John Birch Society, that Eisenhower was a closet commie.

This is foolish. Not every enemy of Obama is a friend to conservatism. In 1962, in a time when conservatives needed all the help they could get, William F. Buckley nevertheless published in National Review a lengthy denunciation of paranoid Bircher Robert Welch. How long, Buckley asked, can the right tolerate his malicious gibberish without losing credibility? National Review eventually sidelined the Birchers for good over their "psychosis of conspiracy," thus doing the right an enormous service by making conservatism more credible with the American mainstream.

Where the hell are the "credentialed" conservatives in this fight? Oh, right, they're at NRO making disparaging remarks about Sarah Palin or any other conservative that isn't part of some elite Beltway country club. Look, I don't really know all that much about Glenn Beck, and Dreher might be right about his associations. But can Dreher point me in a direction of another conservative who's doing as much to defend America from the Obama administration?

In fact, out of all the conservative think tanks and groups that are out there, have any of them had as much an effect as Glenn Beck? Anybody? I mean, I more than willing to step back and admit when I'm wrong, and if someone out there can point me to someone who's done more than Glenn Beck, show them to me. Point them out. Andrew Breitbart and Big Government helped expose ACORN, but Glenn Beck was railing against ACORN as well. And Glenn Beck helped push the Big Government ACORN expose on national TV.

So I'm more inclined to go with this guy:

Although there is more in John’s post - much more even - the main point can be summarized in one short sentence: without Beck, the Obama administration would not have had to deal with any controversies.

Without Beck the far left would not have been exposed.

Many would undoubtedly have liked it to be different but the FrontPageMag editor is right. Beck is the only national figure willing to take on the extreme left and to prove that Obama has ties to them and may even be one of them.

That’s it; it is time for conservatives to stop criticizing Beck and to give him credit for helping the conservative movement take on the most progressive individuals ever to be in charge of the most powerful country on earth.

Both stories found here.

In foozball news...

My Seahawks managed to choke away the fourth quarter and lose YET AGAIN. I mean, it's not like they got their ass stomped. They were up 13-0 against Chicago, and lost 16-21.

*sigh*

What the hell......

Ya seen this yet?

Unemployment rate for young Americans at 52.2%!!!! What the hell?

The unemployment rate for young Americans has exploded to 52.2 percent -- a post-World War II high, according to the Labor Dept. -- meaning millions of Americans are staring at the likelihood that their lifetime earning potential will be diminished and, combined with the predicted slow economic recovery, their transition into productive members of society could be put on hold for an extended period of time.

And worse, without a clear economic recovery plan aimed at creating entry-level jobs, the odds of many of these young adults -- aged 16 to 24, excluding students -- getting a job and moving out of their parents' houses are long. Young workers have been among the hardest hit during the current recession -- in which a total of 9.5 million jobs have been lost.

Isn't that an age group that overwhelmingly went for Obama? I'm too lazy to check right now, but if it is then they've gotten the change they voted for. They might not have wanted it, or even known what they were getting, but they are getting exactly what they voted for.

A study from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, a government database, said the damage to a new career by a recession can last 15 years. And if young Americans are not working and becoming productive members of society, they are less likely to make major purchases -- from cars to homes -- thus putting the US economy further behind the eight ball.

Angrisani said he believes that Obama's economic team, led by Larry Summers, has a blind spot for small business because no senior member of the team -- dominated by academics and veterans of big business -- has ever started and grown a business.

There's almost NOBODY in the Obama administration who hasn't made their living by sucking off the government teat, period. They wouldn't know how to create a job if their lives depended on it. It's only going to get worse, folks. The damage being done right now will be felt for decades to come. Obama is a hard core Marxist, with a team that considers a destroyed economy to be a good opportunity to enact their Statist legislation. Congratulations, America. You got the change you voted for.

Labor Dept. statistics also show that the number of chronically unemployed -- those without a job for 27 weeks or more -- has also hit a post-WWII high.

If the Dems don't lose control of the House in 2010, then it's high time that the thinking part of the country cut off the liberal states like gangrenous limbs.

GEN McChord's request shelved

I've seen this everywhere, but I'll link to Ace of Spades HQ just because. Remember when the Democrat American Communist Party tried to use Afghanistan as an example of a "good" war that we should be fighting? All the howls about how we needed to cut and run and surrender in Iraq so that we could win the war in Afghanistan?

Yeah. All lies. Nothing but lies from gutless, whiny, yellow-bellied pussies, who now that Iraq is won are taking the first chance they can get to cut, run and surrender in Afghanistan.

There is not a SINGLE Democrat American Communist Party member who can be trusted with any facet of the military or national defense. Because quite simply, they don't want to defend the nation.

a little laugh brought to you the the AP

China on Sunday started investigating complaints that American chicken products are being dumped in China and are unfairly benefiting from subsidies, adding to a string of trade disputes with Washington.

This really is all about a tit-for-tat trade war brought on by a tariff on Chinese made tires being raised. I still find it amusing. At this time I would be perfectly happy if we would just stop purchasing anything from China. Really after the baby formula, dog food, toothpaste and the children's dolls with lead paint, I find it hard to believe these were mere accidents. I really think the Chinese are trying to kill us. Unfortunately there are enough people that will look at the price tag and not where it was made, just to save a buck. Do you have any idea of how many of our consumables, things we put in our bodies, are made in China? I do, because I won't buy them. I occasionally begrudgingly buy clothing, like shoes, made in China, only because there are no other reasonable options. I am always elated when I find an item that I expect to be made in China is made in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Tiwan, Korea or another place that is not trying to kill us.

Happy shopping
