Obama lies about supporting the troops... again

Again... Gateway Pundit has the video
Obama Forgets the Name of Iraqi War Hero On His Bracelet
His troop bracelet was given to him by the mother of a soldier whose son was killed in the Iraq War.
Barack's ended his debate with a smug America-bashing rant. Peter Kirsanow:
Obama and the Debate: Proud of His Country?
Obama inexplicably chose to feed the narrative that he's smug, arrogant and condescending by repeatedly referring to McCain as "John" and by his behavior while McCain was speaking; on the split screen Obama's expression was one of disdain and he had a tendency to interrupt and talk over McCain as McCain was trying to wrap up a point.
...
...then Obama concludes by saying " I don't think any of us can say that our standing in the world now, the way children around the world look at the United States, is the same. " CLANG. He then states, reminiscent of Kerry's "Global Test", that we need to "show the world that we will invest in education" and "things that will allow people to live their dreams".

Criticizing George Bush or any of our other political leaders is one thing. Contending America's ideals and values are somehow suspect is a breathtaking statement for a prospective commander in chief to make, especially when thousands of Americans have given life and limb, sons and daughters, in brave demonstration of our ideals and values.

Here are a few of Barack Hussein Obama's smears and lies about the troops he is a candidate to lead:
“We’ve got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D)

At a fancy '05 Manhattan fundraiser, Obama told the approving crowd that the Bush administration was using soldiers in Iraq as "cannon fodder."

“You know, I’ve heard from an Army captain who was the head of a rifle platoon — supposed to have 39 men in a rifle platoon. Ended up being sent to Afghanistan with 24 because 15 of those soldiers had been sent to Iraq. And as a consequence, they didn’t have enough ammunition, they didn’t have enough humvees. They were actually capturing Taliban weapons, because it was easier to get Taliban weapons than it was for them to get properly equipped by our current commander in chief.” -- Barack Hussein Obama

..."oftentimes our women servicemembers are more prone to post-traumatic stress disorder partly because they — there's a sad, but real, problem of sexual harassment and sexual abuse for women veterans, and that makes them much more prone, then, to have post-traumatic stress disorder." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D)

"If you talk to commanders on the ground there, they'll tell you, 'Instead of having another platoon, I'd rather have a couple of agricultural specialists." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D) who hasn't been "on the ground there" in Afghanistan

Update via Gateway Pundit
Sick! Soldier's Family Told Obama Not to Wear Son's Bracelet!
And... Obama refused them.
Update from Jonah Goldberg reader
More Important than a Bracelet
While some are looking for confirmation whether Mrs. Jopek had asked Senator Obama to stop wearing (or using it) her son's wristband, what all are ignoring is Sergeant Jopek supported the mission in Iraq and died supporting a cause he believed in. That is Obama's greatest shame, that he has always failed to say that SGT Jopek gave all in a cause he believed in.

Yet that is just like what the liberal media failed to say when they propped up Cindy Sheehan. Not once to date in over 150 entries has the NY Times mentioned that Casey Sheehan 1) reenlisted knowing he would be deployed to Iraq, 2) volunteered for the rescue mission he died during, and 3) when told he did not have to volunteer, replied, "Where my Chief goes, I go." ('Chief' is the formal title for the head of a maintenance section in the U.S. Army. Casey Sheehan was a mechanic).

Quote of the Day

Hatred is what flows into the void created by the eviction of rational moral standards. No man can sustain a moral or emotional vacuum; the condition is lethal. He who holds to no standard must find someone or something to hate, lest he end up hating himself.

A totalitarian cannot and will not tolerate dissent, much less opposition. But the campaign to destroy the dissenter cannot be dispassionate, for there are no dispassionate passions. Such an undertaking must be powered by hatred.

Francis Porretto, Eternity Road.

Congress and the financial breakdown.

I haven't blogged about it much, because I've been reading, absorbing information, thinking it over, and wondering just what can be done to limit the damage that Congress has caused.

For those wondering, yes, I am blaming Congress. Not Wall Street. Congress. Idiots and lawyers who don't have a clue about economics, yet have put so many regulations in place on what was once a free market that this breakdown was going to happen sooner or later. Anyone remember Jamie Gorelick? The woman behind "The Wall", that prevented the CIA and FBI from talking to each other, resulting in a giant smoking hole in NYC? Yeah, THAT oxygen thief.

Did you know she also was in control of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac at one point? So that is TWO massive failures that she had her hands on. And yet she's still around, and she was a huge player in the Clinton administration. She's an absolute failure. At best she's incompetent. But she has political connections. Franklin Raines made millions of dollars when he was in charge of Mac/Mae, and now he's a top adviser to the Obama campaign. Congress has been fucking with this for two damn decades, and yet now their supposed to fix it?

Yeah, right. Congress is the problem, not the solution.

So I guess my knee-jerk response to this bailout plan is to say "NO!" and hit a congresscritter on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper. And that's based on the fact that the people who are the problem cannot be counted on to create a solution without screwing things up worse. Or inserting clauses for them to get rich off of our tax dollars.

Tighten up your seatbelts, folks. It's gonna get ugly no matter what happens.

UPDATE: Case in point -

The real purpose of section D is to send more funds to La Raza and ACORN through housing welfare, via the slush fund of the HTF. They want to float their political efforts on behalf of Democrats with public money, which was always the purpose behind the HTF. They did the same thing in April in the first bailout bill, setting aside $100 million in “counseling” that went in large part to ACORN and La Raza, and at least in the former case, providing taxpayer funding for a group facing criminal charges in more than a dozen states for fraud.
Fuck it. Kill the entire buyout fiasco. Let the markets solve the problem. Congress is too corrupt to fix anything, and any taxpayer money used by Congress is effectively wasted. No bill, no deal, nada. I don't trust the asscannons on Capitol Hill to do anything more than fund their re-election campaigns and line their own pockets.

Getting unpacked

Most of our stuff is still in boxes right now. We tossed quite a bit of furniture before we moved, just due to it being crappy and beaten up by Puerto Rico. So we don't have dressers yet, and we need a banquet for the living room.

And we need to build wardrobes. This house is so old that it was built without closets. We've got a big steamer trunk to hold all of our blankets, but we need something to hold our clothes. I'm working on that.

But I think it's coming along nicely.

Lovely

There's a bad apple in every bunch, I guess.

Truth will out

Yep - Democrat American Communist Party members are a bunch of lying, cheating, thieving bastards.

And Cold Fury has proof that when the Commies can't win, they cheat.

Household goods are in.

But due to a lack of furniture, most of it is sitting in boxes. The Ragin' Mrs. and I are picking up a few things later on this week, and I'm refinishing some cabinets that were original to the house, but are currently sitting in the garage.

It's going to be a busy couple of weeks. Maybe I'll start on something easy, like getting the lawn mower working.

NOT EXACTLY

Here's a nice list of the lies and gaffes that 'ol Barak has made recently. The guy wouldn't know what the truth was if it bit him in the ass.

Two Must Reads

Bill Whittle Rides Again

The Jawa Report: Hope, Change, and Lies.

The household goods are arriving today. I'd love to say that the house is in perfect shape, but there's still quite a bit that isn't done. And I'm never using oil based primer again. That crap takes forever to dry. But we did paint the living room and the dining room, cleaned up, put everything in it's place, so that when our worldly possessions show up we can get them set up and ready to go.

The stove and fridge show up on Wednesday. After that, I'll be blogging from a house that I own. Yeehaw!

Barack Obama In Veggie Burger Hill

Don't forget Barack Hussein Obama's smears of the troops he claims he wants to lead:

More painting today

Primer done. What will be my office almost completely gutted. Right now we're working on the front porch, and everything else will be on hold for a little while. We have to take it one room at a time, otherwise I'll go completely bonkers looking at jobs all over the place. Once the paint is on, re-seal the wood floors in the living room and dining room.

Hopefully that'll be it for today. There's a football game on somewhere that I'm going to miss, but that's life.

See ya all tomorrow.

Nice little rundown

Noel at Cold Fury has a nice little rundown of the Do-Nothing, most ethical Congress EVAH that must be read.

This Congress is a National Disgrace. Nancy Pelosi’s National Disgrace Congress of 2008.

Harsh? I don’t think so.

Take Charlie Rangel. On his 5-week paid vacation, he went to his tax-free Carribbean condo. It’s not supposed to be tax-free, it just worked out that way. Charlie is the Ways & Means Chairman, the committee which writes our tax laws. If he can’t understand his own tax laws what hope do the rest of us have?

Charlie blames the condo staff because they speak Spanish. But US tax law is written in English. Allegedly.

Joe Biden says paying high taxes is patriotic. I don’t think he should question Charlie’s patriotism like that.

It turns out that AIG had so much extra money laying around that they gave Charlie 10 million dollars for his “foundation”, because they care so deeply about good government. The Good News: surely they don’t need that giant bailout if they’ve got that kind of money to burn!

Will Charlie step down from his chaimanship? Of course not; this is the National Disgrace Congress.

Note that I am not surprised at how corrupt the Democrat American Communist Party controlled Congress is. Hell, I predicted it when they took over. The Left only cares about power, nothing else.
