Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, who knowingly half-strips a 60 year old hardwood door, and then puts varnish over the whole damn thing, should be consigned to no less than the seventh circle of hell.
I have no idea what all is covering that poor door. All I know is that I can barely scrape it off. It just laughs at the varnish stripper I used. There's probably two decades worth of dirt, crap, and varnish on it.
The previous tenants of this house need to be persecuted for crimes against a historic home.
