Town does what Feds will not

As in, take measures to curb illegal immigration.

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas — This Dallas suburb became the first Texas city to pass tough anti-immigration measures, prompting fears they could lead to sanctioned discrimination and racism.

City Council members unanimously approved fines for landlords who rent to illegal immigrants, making English the city's official language and allowing local authorities to screen suspects in police custody to check their immigration status.

Look, to me immigration is a very simple thing. You can come to this country. You can work here. You can apply to be a citizen. But by god, you had better follow the damn laws and sign the guest book on your way in. If you can't even bother to follow the law, then I don't want you here.

LEGAL immigration is welcomed. ILLEGAL immigrants can get the hell out. And if that offends people, too damn bad.
