You think your Social Security is yours?

Nuh uh.

"Your estimated benefits are based on current law. Congress has made changes to the law in the past and can do so at any time. The law governing benefit amounts may change because, by 2042, the payroll taxes collected will be enough to pay only about 73% of the scheduled benefits."

Folks, once the government gets that money supposedly earmarked for Social Security, any claim you have on it is over.

Done. Finite. Finished, destroyed, gone.

And remember, the government isn't just getting that 7.5% that you see on your paycheck. Your employer also pays 7.5% of your pay to the government in Social Security payments. Which means that for those folks out there who are self employed? Yep, they get to pay the whole 15%. And not only are you NOT entitled to any benifits beyond what Congress deems fit to give you, the Social Security administration admits that time is running out on the program! THEY PRINT THAT FACT ON THE BACK OF THE STATEMENT!!!!!!

I don't know why more people in the 20-30 year age bracket aren't howling about Social Security right now, because they are getting RIPPED OFF! Hell, I'M getting ripped off! Anyone who pays into this ponzi scheme is getting ripped off, because you have no claim to that money once the government has it in it's grubby, corrupt little fingers! And the return you get on that money is so small it's not even laughable.

Right now you would get a better return by just sticking your money into a savings account and letting it sit for forty years. Abolish Social Security.
